Julia Faith

International Outreach Director, 2012-Present

Julia began her international service at the age of ten. She began by buying pregnant goats for Haitian farmers through CCH, a non-profit in Haiti, and within two years, she had acquired 400 goats. This caught the attention of Robert Duvall and in 2009 Julia was asked to be the Ambassador to The Robert Duvall Fund. During her years working with The Robert Duvall Fund, she made jewelry, selling it at local boutiques, to fundraise. She also raised money through bake sales at Wakefield School. Although she continued to buy goats, she donated money to support the education of girls in India.

As Ambassador, Julia traveled to Haiti in early 2011 to learn more about the people and the needs of the country. Julia's largest project as Ambassador was to raise enough money to build a well for a village, which had no local water source. In September of 2011, Julia travelled to Haiti to help build the well in Bally and to fulfill the village's greatest need.

Julia's love for Haiti and its people has been a focal point in her life. When her sister Diane founded Goals Beyond the Net in October 2011, Julia joined as International Outreach Director. She has devoted years of service to GBTN. In 2013 Julia spent her sophomore year living in Haiti designing, developing and implementing our Goat Farming Program and our English Literacy Program.

Julia designed the Goat Farming Program and also the educational program for the GBTN families. She worked closely to mentor our Community Director of Sustainability in his new position. This program's tremendous success is directly correlated to Julia's creativity and knowledge.

Julia designed the five level curriculum of our English Literacy Program based on phonics and phonemic awareness, grammar, sentence formation, idioms and metaphors, written language strategies, public speaking, and conversational fluency. She enrolled and taught children and adults, who advanced from Level 1 to Level 4. Julia taught English class full-time for one year and also mentored other instructors. She taught our English classes the first year (2013-2014) and subsequent summers. She evaluates the program's effectiveness yearly and implemented the necessary curriculum changes.

Julia has been a member of the arts community since she was in kindergarten. She has performed in over 31 plays, taking the lead role her junior year in the play Harvey, and a major role in Almost Maine. After graduating from Wakefield School, Julia completed a Conservatory Year in Screenwriting at The New York Film Academy. She continued her academic pursuits at the New York Film Academy, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Screenwriting degree in 2019.

Julia is been instrumental in the administrative aspect of Haiti operations, mentoring and supervising Haitian staff. She has also had a critical role as a translator and translating documents. Julia is fluent in French and conversational Haitian Creole.
